ポール･ウェラーのデビューから現在までのシングル曲をすべて収録した4枚組。
DVDサイズのケースに厚いブックレットが付いています。全キャリアをこの価格で聞けるのはお得だと思います。
日本盤は、EU盤に対談や歌詞の解説書つき。おそらく初対訳になる曲もあるかもしれません。

シングルコレクションなので、すべてシングルバージョンで揃えられていると、価値あるものになったと思いますが、

・ジャムは5,6,10,13曲目がアルバムバージョンに。15も残念ながらいつものリミックスバージョン。
・スタイル・カウンシルは2,8,11が12"バージョン。13のみアルバムバージョンですが、その他は7"バージョン。
・ソロは基本的にアルバムバージョンですが、Disc3-2,3,9,11はシングルバージョンのアルバム初収録。
Disc4は7のみシングルバージョン。13はアナログ盤EPのみのシングルバージョンなので未収録が残念なところ。

統一性の無い選び方ですが、マニアはともかくこれからウェラーを知りたい、シングルでキャリアを知りたいという方には便利なセットだと思います。

ただ、それぞれのバンドでのベスト盤も多く、ボックスセットも出ている為、シングルに拘らず、ライヴ音源、
シングルB-side等から選曲対象にしても良かったのではないかと思います。
このセットを買うと、ソロ期のシングルコレクション「Modern Classics」は不必要になります。

ポール師匠のオール･タイム・ベストです。一発目の「In The City」が1977年、そして最期の「Blink & You'll miss it」が2005年なので実に28年！こうしてＣＤを通して聞くとこの人のアティチュード、そのものがModなんだとつくずく感じます。様々なフォーマットに乗ってって時代時代にやりたいことをやっているのだけど一本心が通っている、TSC時代に使っていた青臭いスローガン「Keep on burning」こそが彼の本質なのでしょう。また、それこそが私が彼についていく理由なのです。同時発売の1枚モノのベストのほうが新旧混在した曲順で展開しているのでいいかも。（正直、タイトルはいただけないなー）
