ショーンの曲を聴いたのは、このアルバムが初めてです。お父さんのイメージを想像している
と、ちょっと違うイメージを持つかもしれませんが、全曲とても聴きやすいアルバムです。メ
ロウな感じは、日本人好みの音じゃないでしょうか。曲によっては、ビートルズライクなもの
もありますが、それ以上にショーンの声は甘くて耳に残ります。DVDの映像も非常に凝ったも
ので、贅沢なアルバムです。

偉大すぎる父ジョン・レノンの存在を抜きにしても、1stアルバムは個人的に気に入っているアルバムの一つだ。
その調子で作品を作り続けるだろうと思っていたが、今作が発売されるまで8年という膨大な時間が流れた。

前作は、オルタナという言葉がまだ陳腐化しきっていない時期に発売されていた事もあり、僕自身もオルタナ的感触を持って聞いていたんだと思う。
所属してたグランドロイヤルの崩壊は、そんなオルタナの終焉を物語る一つの象徴だったのかもしれない。

今回の2ndアルバムを聞いて、この人はジョン・レノンの息子なんだというのを再認識せざるを得なかった。
元々声質は似ていたが今作はエフェクト面も含めてジョン的な声を意図的に作り出している感がある。
曲自体は万人に受け入れられる普遍的なメロディーが満載で聞きやすい。
少し陰鬱な雰囲気が多い点は好き嫌いが分かれるかもしれないし、前作の延長線上を意識すると期待はずれと感じる人もいるかもしれない。

でも、僕はこのアルバムが好きだ。
ショーンレノンという一人の人間が人生の紆余曲折を経て、自分の今をリアルに鳴らした結果だからだ。
個人的には2006年のアルバムの中でもベスト5に入る。
それくらい気に入っている。

次作が聞けるのはまた8年後だろうかw
期待しながら気長に待ちたいと思う。

某ＣＤショップで試聴し、ショーンの作り出す切ないﾒﾛﾃﾞｨｰﾗｲﾝに惹かれ購入しました。
ＤＶＤはまさに僕の世界へようこそ的映像満載で、おしゃれでちょっと笑えたり、
出てる女の人たちがみんなキレイでビックリしたり（笑）。とにかくここ数年音沙汰の
なかったSEANを心配していた自分としては「これからもがんばれよ〜〜」と応援したくなる
というか、変な親心が生まれました（？）。やっぱりSEANの声は親譲りなのか、
いい声しています◎ゆっくりしてる時に聴いてみてください。
