「ロード・オブ・ザ・リング」三部作の二作目ということで、この辺りから面白さが増してきます。前作はあくまで指輪の仲間中心だったのに対し、今作からは国を巻き込んだ物語が展開されるので必然的に面白くなってきます。

滅びの山に向かうフロドとサム、ウルク＝ハイにさらわれたメリーとピピン、それを追うアラゴルン、レゴラス、ギムリと話が３つのパートからなるので、一度見ただけでは理解しきれないかもしれませんが、見るたびごとに面白くなってくると思います。

なんと言ってもヘルム峡谷の決戦は見応えありですね。大軍と大軍がぶつかり合う迫力といったらすごすぎて鳥肌が立ちます。

シリーズ中でも１、２を争う傑作です。ぜひ、じっくりとご鑑賞ください。

第2部はどちらかというとセオデン、エオメル、エオウィン、ファラミアといった人間が特に印象的ですね。
ただ、原作にないアルウェンのシーンやハルディアの出陣はちょっと意外でした。
ピピンとメリーって良く似ていて確かに見分けにくいですね。特に2人一緒にいる時など。
でも、その見分け方が分かりました。青いジャケットがピピン、黄色いチョッキがメリーです。
なぜかといえば、この2人がゴブリンどもにさらわれたときにブローチを落としたのがピピンというところからね。

｢指輪物語｣の第２章ですが､シリーズ最高傑作と評価される方が多い作品です｡
今回､一番印象に残る人物はガンダルフだと思います｡
１作目で崖下へ転落した彼が､姿を変えて現れるシーンは好きですネ〜｡
後はメリーとピピンの活躍も重要な鍵を握ってます｡
勿論､アラゴルンのカッコ良さは健在で惚れ惚れします｡
個人的にも､｢王の帰還｣より｢二つの塔｣の方が好きです｡
BSで2006.12.24に｢王の帰還｣が放映されますが､その前にこの｢二つの塔｣を観る事をお薦めします｡
