《冬の旅》の歌詞は本来男性歌手が歌う歌詞である。それを女性が歌っているわけだが、言葉や詩の意味を少し比喩的に捕らえ直すことができてよかった。そして、おそらくシェーファーが意図したのとは違って「人生旅のごとし」「行きつくところは死」というテーマがぼやけて「明日のことは明日考えよう」という楽天的な気分にさせてくれた。つまり、彼女の歌唱は本来、この歌曲の持つ暗さを和らげていると思う。あと、F. ディースカウのは、途中で退屈するが、シェーファーのは、後半が良くて最後まで退屈しないのが良い。

ERIC SCHNEIDER のピアノ伴奏はうまいし、シェーファーの歌唱によくあっている。
