レスポンスの良さにビックリしました・・。Ｇ５はシャッターのタイムラグも大きく、起動時間もかなり掛かっていましたが、Ｓ３は早くて使っていて気持ちがいいです。
手ブレ防止機能がやっぱり良いです。４００ｍｍオーバーの望遠が手持ちで撮影出来るんですし、画質面は一般的な撮影には十分だと思います。どうしても高画質に拘るならデジイチを選べばいいでしょう。

バリアングルモニター、光学１２倍ズーム、手ブレ防止、６００万画素、０cmマクロ、動画撮影・・・薄型ではないのでグリップ感も良く、機能的なデジカメです。
よく、広角側がもう少し（28ｍｍぐらいから）あれば・・・と言われますし、私も思いましたが、望遠側の長さが432ｍｍもあることを考えると仕方ないかな・・と。

使いやすいですよ、、このカメラ。
高倍率ズームは子供を写すのに便利だし、楽しいです。
最近では当たり前になってきている手ぶれ防止で望遠も問題ありません。

本音では一眼デジカメが良いんですけどね。(^^)
そこまでカメラが趣味ということでもないので、バランス重視で、購入しました。
以前一眼レフを使っていたのですが、レンズ交換は面倒でした。
本体も大きいし交換レンズまで持ち歩くのはちょっと・・・
このカメラは絞りやシャッタースピードを簡単に操作して楽しむこともできます。（パパの楽しみ）
気楽にカメラ任せでもちゃんと撮れるのはもちろんです。
電動ズームは競合機種より数段良いですが、一眼の左手ズーム右手シャッターよりは快適さで負けますね。
（全部右手人差し指です。指一本で、といえばこれも長所でしょうか。）
液晶モニターが最近では小さめですが、角度が自在に変えられるので好みでしょうね。一度お店で触ってみたほうが良いですよ。
サイズ重視ではないので乾電池駆動はうれしいところです。

購入時には選択のポイントにしていなかった動画撮影機能ですが、なかなか使えてビックリ楽しいです。
画質と操作の楽しさなら一眼、携帯性ならフラットズームのコンパクト、動画ならビデオカメラですが、
価格とそれらのバランスで「子供撮りカメラ」におすすめします。
経済性と使いやすさ重視のママには星6つの評価をもらってます。
運動会はダイヤルをスポーツモードにして写しましょう。

子供の写真をメインに考え、いろいろな12倍ズームを試した結果S3が一番レスポンスが良いと感じました。ズーム、ピント、シャッターレリーズ等すべてにおいて早いので、運動会などの使用にはもってこいです。液晶画面がやや見えにくいのですが、直接ファインダーをのぞいての撮影が多いので問題ありません。おまけと捉えていたスーパーマクロ(0センチまでよれる）もおもしろく、バリアングル液晶と相まってとても使いやすいです。また質感もほどほど良く、所有欲を満たしてくれます。
