GyaOでオンエアされていたのを見て、ついつい惚れ込んじゃって「もっといい画質で見たいなー」と思って、買うことにしました。『にゃんこ THE MOVIE』とどっちにしようか迷ったけど、くりかえし何度も見たくなるこっちにして正解でしたね（後で『にゃんこ』も見ました。まぁ、それなりによし、という感じだったかな）。
エキゾチックかつ、不思議な郷愁を誘うエーゲ海の島々の美しい風景、そこに溶け込むように自然に暮らすねこたち。見た目がほとんど日本のねこといっしょなこともあって親近感がわき、見ていくうち、少しづつおだやかな気持ちになって行きます。落ちついたトーンのナレーションに加え、音楽（担当＝秋山裕和氏）もハイセンスなアコースティック調で、いい感じ。

DVDを起動させると「ナレーションあり・解説字幕なし・エンドレス」で再生されますが、メニュー画面で「ナレーションなし・解説字幕つき」「１回のみ再生」も選べます（各パートごとの再生も選択可）。もちろんプレーヤーの方で操作して字幕も外し、完全なBGVとして流しておくこともできます。
あわただしい日々の中に、ちょっとしたエアポケットを作ってくれるDVDとして、これはおすすめですよ。

なお、メニュー画面の中のスタッフ紹介によると、撮影・編集の伊藤信幸さん、ナレーターの黒沼弘己さん、共に大のねこ好きだそうです。

ミコノス島・イドラ島・サントリーニ島・特典BGV（猫と音楽）の４章作。

初めは男性のナレーションと猫だけでなくその島に住む生き物・人達を
クローズアップしていることに少し驚いたが、見ているうちに自然と
引き込まれる。

簡単なその島の紹介・一日の流れと、猫達の日常を合わせてとっている
ので観光の下見としても役に立つ気がした。

なかでもサントリーニ島の朝日と夕日にまどろむ猫達の絵は圧巻。
なんとも言えずほんわかした気持ちになるDVDです。

ナレーションがいらない人には少々うるさいかもしれないが、最後に
BGVも付いているので私は逆に飽きずに見れました。

5.0 out of 5 stars HDVカメラの良さをうまく活用した作品, 2006/5/30
この作品は、SONY　ハイビジョンハンディカムのHDR-FX1というハイビジョンカメラで撮影されたものです。大掛かりな機材(1000万のカメラ)を使って撮影したのでは制作予算もかかるので、30数万のやや小型の機材で撮影されています。しかし、作者の腕は勿論の事ですが、とても美しい作品です。(撮影の仕方も含め)また、なかなかFX1を使用して、丸々１本の作品を発表する人は少ないものなので、FX1をお持ちの方には、良い撮影の見本(この撮影での撮影条件は厳しかったはず)になるのではないでしょうか。ただ、残念な事は、この製品はDVDですので、ハイビジョン画質ではありません。ハイビジョンで撮影し、従来のSD画質に落としている(DVDの規格上)画像です。　いつかBD版を出して欲しいので、その期待も込めて星五つです!
