2006年モーツァルト・イヤーで発売されたアルバムの中では超強力盤の一つ。第5番「トルコ風」は、第3楽章が普通の協奏曲のようにロンド形式ではなく、メヌエットになっています。メヌエットはモーツァルトの時代としては古い形式なのですが、トリオにあたる部分はアレグロになっていてトルコ風の活発なリズムやメロディーが現れる新鮮な作品。カデンツァは、マンゼ自身によるものを披露しています。マンゼは艶やかな音色と音楽的深さで、新鮮な響きに包まれた演奏を聴かせてくれます。

「The English Concert は、こんなに演奏がうまかったのか」と思うほど、The English Concert がいい。アンドリュー・マンゼは指揮者として優れているようだ。

K. 219(No. 5) は、3つの楽章のバランス、ニュアンスが、私がこれまで聴いた中でベストであり、K. 219 の最良の演奏だと思う。
