   『ラーゼフォン　多元変奏曲』の京田知己監督によるTV秀作SFアニメーション・シリーズのDVD第6弾。第19話「アクペリエンス・２」第20話「サブスタンス・アビューズ」第21話「ランナウェイ」第22話「クラックポット」を収録。月光号修理中の洞窟の奥で謎の現象に見舞われ、無残に変わり果てるエウレカ。戦いが人殺しであることを初めて体感して恐怖におののくレントンは、ますます自分にきつく接し、暴力までふるうホランドへの反発や、エウレカを護れなかった自責の念も手伝い、ついに月光号を下りてしまう。ある意味もっとも観ていて辛い巻ではあるが、ここを乗り切らないと次のカタルシスは得られないので、しばしご辛抱のほどを。今回の救いとなるのは艦を下りたレントンを救う新キャラ、ビームス夫妻だが、彼らが魅力的であればあるほど、後の悲劇も濃厚に、そして残酷に映えていくのだ。（増當竜也）

少年と少女の心はますますすれ違うばかりなのか…。
19話は、また精神世界のお話です。前回同様、最後のシーンが重要だと思います。
20話は、少年はこれまでで、最大の壁にぶち当たります。今後はその壁をどう乗り越えていくのかが、話の中心になりそうです。

そして、新キャラとしてある夫妻―70年代の雰囲気漂う(笑)―が登場します。彼らは“自由”人です。少年は、偶然、街で彼らと出会います。
少年は、彼らから何を学ぶのでしょうか。

２０話の、ホランドのレントンに対する暴力シーン。
打算なんか一切考えずに、ただエウレカを助けようと、
ホランドに食って掛かるレントンに、ちょっと感動してしまいました。
今や、レントンよりもホランドの方に年齢が近くなってしまい、
久しくアニメを見なくなっていたのですが
こういう一瞬の純粋な感情（それがたとえはた迷惑なものだとしても）
を描いてくれるから、私はこの作品が好きです。

それから欲を言えば、タルホのフォローの拙さが気になりました。
もっと年相応の考え方を持った女性として描いてほしいと思います。

本巻では主人公が死を認識する恐らくエウレカセブンで最もグロいシーンが登場する．正直見ていて気持ちの良いシーンでは無かったし，見ているのは辛かった．ただ，ストーリー全体から見て「あの」シーンは必要不可欠であったと思う．ロボット物で主人公が死を認識し，それを克服するという展開は王道なのかもしれないが，これだけ丁寧に主人公の心の機敏を描写した作品を他に私は知らない．
　主人公が抱く自我の肥大，独善への気づき，無力感からの怒りや悲しみ等々は昔や今の自分を見ているようで思わず感情移入してしまい，主人公の泣き笑いにこちらも感情を揺り動かされてしまう．少年の心をこれだけ真正面から描こうとしたスタッフ，そして脚本に拍手を送りたい．

　映像，音楽，演出等々のレベルも非常に高く，ストーリーを大いに盛り上げている．まだ本編は半分が終了した段階だが，この作品は名作であると言ってしまってもいいのではないだろうか．
