これまでのCDではかすかにしか聞こえなかった、小川銀次氏のリードギターが、今回は鮮明に聞こえるようになっている。個人的にはそれだけでOKですが、やはりベース音や会場の臨場感もかなり向上している感じ。今回のCDで銀次氏のギターがもっと評価される事を望んでいます。

ＲＣサクセションが再始動してシーンをずっとリードし続けるきっかけとなったライヴアルバム。
「よーこそ」から始まる黄金のワンパターンはゴッドファーザージェイムスブラウンを彷彿とさせる。
ライヴでの疾走感をそのままにアップテンポなストレートなロックの間に「ラプソディ」のようなセンチメンタルな名曲や
アコースティックの「エンジェル」、そしてサムクックのようなに坂本九の名曲「上を向いて歩こう」をソウルフルにカバーし、
最後はこれもお定まりであるが「雨上がりの夜空に」どれだけこのアルバムを聴いて熱中したことか。

ライブバンドRCのこれが殆ど知られて無い最高傑作。日本のロックCDの最高の一枚に数えられるだろう。メンバー紹介を曲にした｢よぉーこそ｣で始まると、当時の私の頭はぶっ飛んだ。「エンジェル」｢雨上がりの夜空に」「トランジスタラジオ」名曲は数々収められ、更にライブでの彼らの演奏の良さが加わり、最初に買うRCのCDには最適、といっても過言ではない。喉頭癌で入院治療中の現在の清志郎。元気になったら、また歌えるものなら、歌って欲しい「エンジェル」。シングルカットもされてないけれど、当時、二十歳前だった僕の青春の歌だった。当時は貸しレコード屋で、レコード借りて、アパートでカセットに吹き込むのを常にし、決してレコード買わなかった貧乏人の私が、唯一、買ったアルバム。RCの爆発的成功は、フォークからロックに移って、更に坂本龍一と組んだ資生堂CM「い・け・な・い・ルージュ・マジック」で、オリコン一位へと駆け上がり、「トランジスタラジオ」などの当時の若者の心を歌ったRCは、時代の寵児であり、当時は、彼らが活動休止したり、清志郎がソロをメインにしていくなんて、考えられなかった。日本中の全てのCDの中で間違いなく、最初の一枚として買うべきCD。「エンジェル」はストーンズの｢悲しみのアンジー」に、印象が似ているが、曲は全く違う。歌詞も全然違う。もちろん、日本人にはRCの「エンジェル」の方が好きになれるだろうが。とにかく、私に騙されたと思って買ってください。買わなきゃわかんないよ。「巨人軍は永遠に不滅です」ハ、ミスター引退の名言だが、RC「RHAPSODY」も、永遠に不滅です。
