ＳＡＬＴさんと小曽根さんの心からピアノを楽しんでいるという感じが伝わってきて、ＣＤなんだけど、ライブ会場にいるような臨場感があって、本当に素晴らしいアルバムです。ピアノって最高！って思いますよ。レコード会社の枠を超えて、もう1枚小曽根さんのレコード会社のユニバーサルからも出ていますが、全て別テイクで楽しませてくれます。こんな素敵なことをやってくれたビクターさんとユニバーサルさんに感謝感謝です！

野球やサッカーが米国メジャーや欧州セリエＡといった国際舞台で対等に活躍する日本人アスリートを輩出して久しいが、ジャズの世界もかつての穐吉敏子や渡辺貞夫だけでなく、若い才能が臆せずに大活躍している。この二人も日本のピアノのトップランナーとして不動の地位を築きつつある。ジャズの小曽根真とラテンやクラッシックもこなす塩谷哲といった風に二人の出自やグラウンドは若干異なる。しかし、才能と国際性という点では二人とも共通しており、何よりもお互いが相手の音楽性に心からの共感とリスペクトが、この共演を実現させ、最高のパフォーマンスを発揮したのであろう。先日ＮＨＫ教育の番組でもスタジオライブで共演していたが、恐れを知らぬ二人の自信に満ちたプレイとセンシティブな音楽センスには恐れ入ってしまった。おそらく世界のトップピアニストにも引けを取らない二人の今後に大いに期待したい。
