   犯罪の街「シン・シティ」を舞台に、これでもか、これでもかとハードなアクションが詰め込まれた一作。ロバート・ロドリゲスと、原作コミックの作者であるフランク・ミラーが共同で監督した。幼女連続殺人事件を追いつつも、犯人が権力者の息子だっかことから、逆に逮捕されるハーティガン刑事。一夜を共にした娼婦が殺され、復讐に燃える前科者マーヴ、悪徳警官を追いつめるドワイト。3人の男たちが愛と信念をかける、3つのエピソードが展開していく。
   シャープなモノクロ映像に、女のドレスなどポイントだけ色づけされた「パートカラー」が斬新。銃や刀を使ったバイオレンス場面は強烈だが、流れる血がミルクのように真っ白だったりと、残酷度を薄める美しさもたたえている。ロドリゲスの盟友、クエンティン・タランティーノがゲスト監督として参加したシーンでは、緊迫しつつも、とぼけた味もある男同士の会話に、彼のセンスが際立つ。オールスターキャストが、原作のキャラそっくりの外見になって熱演・怪演。顔じゅう傷だらけのミッキー・ロークや、姿がよく見えないが、超人的な戦闘技術を披露するイライジャ・ウッドがインパクト大だ。女性キャストのセクシー度も半端じゃない。最後までキープされるテンションの高さには、恐れ入るばかり。（斉藤博昭）

本来、この映画の評価は☆☆☆☆☆であるべきで、昨年見た映画の中でもベストワンだと思った。　しかしDVD発売まで散々待たされたあげく、アメリカで発売されている特別版のように劇場公開タイプと20分長いディレクターズ・カットの両方のタイプがセットになっていないというのは残念。20分長い分に新たな字幕をつけるのが大変だからとでもいうのか...　これではプレミアム・エディションとはいえないので商品価値として☆２つの評価にしました。

作品は当然５つ星☆

でも何故こんな中途半端なんだろう？DVDのリリースまで随分時間があったにも関わらずメーカーのやっつけ仕事丸出し。US盤の特別版は２枚組でコミックも特典で付いていたんだが、日本盤は特別でもなんでもない仕様（アウターケースとたった８ページの解説書だけ？）とは....。

やっとリリース決定。ここまで待たされていたので、「147分の完全版か？」と思っていたが・・・結果は124分の劇場公開版。特典ディスクは完全版のものなのに何故？‘プレミアム・エディション’と名乗るのならば完全版でリリースするべきです。作品自体は文句なしの☆5！
