5.0 out of 5 stars フォーク・ロック期のディランはこの作品からがオススメ, 2007/1/12
フォーク・ロックというジャンルを開拓し、確立させたディランを語る上で、本作と次作BlondeOnBlondeは欠かす事の出来ない作品だと思うが、どちらが入門者向きかといえば、やはりコンパクトにまとめられた本作ではないだろうか。
BlondeOnBlondeは、フォーク・ロック完成形ゆえのヴォリュームのため、聴く人によっては聴いているうちにダレてくる可能性もあるもあるからだ。
その点、本作はクォリティーの高い曲ばかりが、ほどよい収録時間に収められているため、入門者でもスッと入っていけると思う。
また、これまでの作品以上にアグレッシブに展開される歌詞・歌いっぷり…そのディランの求める音を具現化していくだけの技量を備えたマイク・ブルームフィールド、アル・クーパーらのバック陣…そんな本作すべてから伝わってくる気合いや勢いは、聴き手を惹きつけるだけの充分なパワーを放っていると思う。
本作に限らず、ディランを語る上でも代表曲である1…重苦しい雰囲気のピアノが印象的な5…出だしからスライド・ギター(故マイク・ブルームフィールドに合掌)が狂暴に暴れまくるタイトル曲7…そんなディラン流パンクとも思える曲もあれば、3・6・8のようにゆったりメロディアスに聴かせる曲もある。
そして、長尺ナンバーのラスト9でヴォーカルと美しいリード・ギターの掛け合いを披露し幕を下ろす。
こうしたスマートな構成力…バランスのいい配分…クォリティーの高い曲…どれをとってもオススメ出来る一枚だと思う。

ボブ・ディランがバンドを従えてエレキサウンドを聞かせるようになって2作目にあたる作品。ディランの語尾を下げながら歌う歌い方は、後年の投げやりなイメージよりは、若さのせいか適度にトンガっていて歌に説得力を与えているように感じます。バックの演奏はタイトとはいえず、からみつく感じですが、ディランの歌と詞を際立たせるにはこれぐらいがいいのかも。エレキになってもディランはディラン、ロックがディランに寄ったというイメージです。挑戦的でトンガってるジャケも○。急に呼び出されたというアル・クーパー、マイク・ブルームフィールドらが参加。

「あなたにとってディランの一番好きな曲をあげてくれ。」と言われたら、なんの迷いもなく
「Like A Rollingstone」と答えるだろう
この一曲を聴くだけでもこのアルバムを聴く価値は十分にあると思う。
ディランがいかなるアーティストで、どんな社会情勢や時代背景があったのかは無視はできない。
しかしながら、あらゆる理屈や言葉はこの一曲の前ではそれほどに意味をもたない。
この歌で転がる石の如くと歌われたのはブライアンジョーンズである。
