Golden J-Pop The Best との曲の重複は、ここではあまり触れないでおく。問題は追加コンテンツであるが「百万本のバラ」が実に感動的である。「百万本のバラ」はロシア民謡をモチーフとして加藤登紀子の曲として有名な曲であり、久米小百合（結婚後の久保田早紀）がひっそりとリリースしたシングルとのことである。この曲を聴くのは絶望的だと思っていたが、まさかこのような形で聴けるとは思いもしなかった。「風激しく」は久米小百合の讃美歌集「テヒリーム33」でも聴くことが出来る（長らく廃盤だったが、2004年1月に復刻）
DVDのほうは「フェアウェル・コンサート」の一部を抜粋。ライブの熱気と、曲のキーを変えない信念が伝わってくる。「25時」のハイオクターヴのDの声もさながら、消耗した体力を奮い立たせながら歌唱する久保田早紀の姿は鬼神と化している。DVDについては、いずれは完全版を望みたい。
ソニーの某プロジェクトにおける後期三部作のデジタルリマスターCD不定期限定販売、ソニーミュージックオンラインにおける「エアメール・スペシャル」の音源有料ダウンロードなど、久保田早紀が21世紀に蘇る要素は整っている。それらが一般店頭販売されるのが本来は先決で、それが先送りになったことは残念だが、本作のヒット如何によっては可能性が大きくなり、DVDも夢ではなくなってきた。それらへの夢、「百万本のバラ」の素晴らしさ、ジャケットの美しさを考慮して「星５」とさせて頂く。

なお、2007年5月に、久保田早紀オリジナルアルバム全作品が限定販売ながら紙ジャケット＆デジタルリマスターにて販売されることになりました。

「異邦人」の大ヒットの後，二番煎じと言われかねない「25時」が今ひとつパッとせず（個人的には好きな曲ですが），久保田早紀も一発屋で終わりかと誰もが考えた矢先のそれこそ起死回生の名作「九月の色」！これ今聴いても日本歌謡史に残るメロディだと思うのですがいかがでしょう。このクオリティなら職業作家として充分やっていけると当時は我が事のように興奮した記憶があります。残念ながらそれほど器用な人ではなかったので（それが魅力だったりもしましたが），私の夢は夢で終わってしまいました。後半妙なムード歌謡みたいになってしまってからは熱心なリスナーでなくなってしまいましたが，今でも「夢がたり」「天界」「サウダーデ」の初期の３枚のアルバムはよく聴きます。もともとメディア露出の余り多くない人でしたが，インタビューなどできちんとその真摯な姿勢を伝えることのできる数少ないアーティストの一人だったと今でもリスペクトしてます。

CDは「百万本のバラ」を聴くだけでも価値がある！と思わないと他のベスト版を持っている人にはツライかも。持ってない人にとってはオススメです。
DVDは（個人的には）かなり貴重と思われる早紀さんの動画（ライブ映像）が収録されています。ただ収録時間が１３分程であるため、やはり物足りないと感じてしまいます。
某サイトで早紀さんの復刻盤のCDを買いそびれた自分にとって、今後の展開に期待と言ったところでしょうか？
