軋轢というアルバム。1979年。ヒリヒリとしたギター、No Waveシーンに近い音。或いは（(ちょっと違うけど)PiLの重たいベースやデッドなドラム。かなりその頃のニューヨークにいたバンドの音とこう、リアルタイムに共鳴していたような雰囲気。というか、元Teenage Jesus And The Jerksのベースの人がいたりする訳で、no waveの流れはあるのかな。プロデュースしたのが坂本龍一というのもEnoのNo New Yorkをそれなりに意識してないといったら嘘だろうし。。メンバーはその後、フリージャズに向かったりもする。そういう素質を持ち合わせている事を感じさせる瞬間もある。シングルカットされたらしいI can tellという曲は抽象化されたメロディとタイトなリズム、金属的なカッティングのギター、性急でフリーキィな(でも短い)ギターsolo、どれもがカッコいい。

ライヴはもっと力が漲っていてパワーに圧倒される、それに比べるとこのアルバムはどことなくぎこちない、、という話を聞いたことがある。ボクはこのバンドのライヴを知らないから何とも云えないけれど、このある種のぎこちなさは、それ自体が魅力を放ってる。これでいいんだと思う。パワーも伝説も不要。

やっとデジタルリマスタリングされ、音の迫力が格段に増しています！
以前のCDを持っている方もマジで買いなおしをお薦めします。

ブライアンイーノがNo New Yorkで当時のニューヨークの緊張感を余す所なく捕まえたのに対して、このアルバムでの坂本龍一のプロデュースは、ちょっと軟弱　きっともっと凄かったんだろうなぁ
でも、楽曲と演奏の緊張感は凄い！聴いとけ！日本人なら
