ひばりでなければ出来ない映画。総じて、ひばり主演作は、ひばりが目立ちすぎの印象があるが、本作はテンポもよくスピーディな快作で、チャンバラ大好きな人におすすめ。ひばりファンでなくても楽しめると同時にひばりの偉大さを感じるだろう。特にラストシーンはミュージカルらしくて心地よい。繰り返し鑑賞しても、その都度楽しめます。
