 『GO』の金城一紀の同名小説を原作に、記憶を無くすことを恐れる青年と、失われた妻の記憶を取り戻そうとする初老の男の旅を通して、それぞれの人生を見つめなおしていくヒューマン映画で、監督はテレビ出身でこれが映画デビューとなった西谷真一。動脈瘤に倒れるも、手術をして記憶が喪失する危険があることを知った野崎（大沢たかお）は、医者への返事もせずに無気力な日々を過ごしていた。そんな折、彼は初老の弁護士・鳥越（柄本明）を東京から鹿児島まで車で送るバイトの仕事を請けるのだが…。
   意外とロードムービー的な疾走感は薄いが、柄本明が見事に画面を席巻しており、その存在感だけで十分本作は魅力的かつ感動的だ。それを受ける大沢たかおも良い。（的田也寸志）

柄本明の野崎(大沢たかお)を受け容れるような演技。
大沢たかおの素直に鳥越(柄本明)に向かう演技。
素敵でした。
野崎と鳥越の心の変化がよく描かれていて、素直に感動出来る作品でした。

正直あまり期待せずに観たため、見終わった後の感動は一入だった。
記憶を失うことを恐れている野崎、記憶を取り戻そうとする鳥越。互いに影響しあい、次第に心を開いていく過程は見ていてとても心地良い。
鳥越が妻の遺品を受け取るラストシーンは愛情に満ち溢れていて、胸にくるものがあった。
個人的に好きなシーンは野崎が夢の中で鳥越の妻と会話をするシーン。ああいう雰囲気、たまらなく好き。静かで美しかった。

　２０代後半の元銀行マン・野崎(大沢たかお)と６０代初老の弁護士・鳥越(柄本明)は自動車で東京から鹿児島の指宿まで向かうことに。期間は一週間。この自動車旅行は、２人にとって人生を見つめ直し、あらためて人生を見い出す旅であった。
　恋愛と病に患わされた老若のふれ合いや、先行世代から後続世代に発せられる気丈な言葉は、胸にジーンとくる。柄本明の疾風怒濤の演技に感嘆してしまう。人生における教訓や戒めとなるストーリーは味わい深い。終着地・指宿でのラストシーンはグッとくる。
