２年ほど前から気にはなっていたバンドでしたが、聴く機会に恵まれずでした。しかし先月の「夢音楽館」でのハウンドドックとのコラボを見て、とても感激しました。特に、最後の新世界単体での「That Lucky Old Sun 」の演奏は圧巻で、ソウルを感じました。ユカリの声、ハモンドの熱さ、いつまでも耳に離れませんでした。原曲はサッチモやレイ・チャールズが歌っているもののようですが、日本語詞が絶妙で、昔の春一番とかに出てくるアーティストの歌のように感じました。五曲入、六曲入もそろえてみようかと思います。「That Lucky Old Sun 」サッチモやレイ・チャールズなどが吹き込んでいるアメリカの古い曲だが、このアルバムでは、久保田麻琴と夕焼け楽団のアルバム『ラッキー・オールド・サン』収録の同名曲の歌詞を元に作られている。

久保田真琴が歌ったThat Lucky Old Sun、大西ユカリの解釈が、またいい。新世界のライブで聞いた時は、元は誰が歌っていたかをすぐには思い出せなかった。この曲が入っているだけで当アルバムは買い。
ちなみに、太いケースの中には過去のアルバムを一緒にしまえるようになっています。ということは、５曲入、６曲入りを買わないと箱の中に空間が空いたまま・・・スルドイ商魂です。
