   ブッチャーズのフロントマン吉村秀樹は、その精神が宿ったようなフィードバックギターやディレイ、大きなウネリを創り出すコードストローク…etc に惚れ惚れさせてくれるギターリストだ。さて、不動のトライアングルを築いてきた彼らの中に、元NUMBER GIRLの田渕ひさ子が加入しての、初のオリジナル・レコーディングだ。

   彼女の参加によってバンドは、瑞々しいパッションを手にし、分かりやすく言えば、曲はアップに端的に短くなった。そして吉村の歌詞は、どんな時だって自分の愛するいくつかのロックとともに外へ飛び出して行けるんだ、といった初心が沸いてくるものばかり。何故、歌い、ギターを弾き、バンドをやってるのかをここまで明確に表してくれた作品は過去になかった。痛快！（石角友香）

「解散したnumber girlの田渕ひさ子嬢を新メンバーに迎え、四人組となった新生butchersの初オリジナルアルバムが遂にリリース！」こう書くと、何やらめでたい出来事の様に聞こえるかもしれないが、実際の所、昔から彼等を追い続けてきた古参ファンにしてみれば心中複雑なのではないだろうか。ギターが一本増えたぶん音は分厚くなっているが、ノイズが減ってクリアになっている為か、全体的に前作よりも軽い印象があって楽曲も数段ポップに聞こえる。これを良い変化と取るか悪い変化と取るかは評価が分かれそうだが、彼女の加入でコーラスなどアレンジの幅が広がった事は確かであるし、非常に充実していて聞き易いアルバムであるという事はよく解る。ただ、中年男三人が奏でる哀愁漂う名曲群に魅せられてきた自分としては、『△』で歌い上げたスリーピースへの拘りをあっさりと捨ててどんどんとポップになっていくbutchersを見ているとやはり複雑な気分になってしまう。

最高です。
一曲目をかけた瞬間にこれが名作であることを予感し、その予感は裏切られることがなかった訳です。
この時点で今年のベストとか言っちゃいたいくらい。
前向きさに目もくらみそう！
音空間が豊かに(そして若干クリアーに)なり、ギターが華やかに空間を埋めます。

チャレンジも忘れてません。ヴォコーダーが鳴ったり音響的な曲があったりしますが、統一感はめちゃめちゃあります。
どこを切ってもブッチャーズ印です。
