はっきり言います。
まだアルバムを１枚も持っていなくてとりあえずBESTを買おうと思っているけど、どれがいいかレビューを参考に悩んでいるあなた、これが正解です！
（このほかにいくつかのベストやライブアルバムが出ていますが、それらは1993年の『リバー・オブ・ドリームス』以来オリジナル・ポップ・アルバムをリリースしていない彼に変わってレコード会社が催促して作らせたやや打算的な仕事で、ちょっと散漫な印象をぬぐえません。）
しかし、このベスト版は完璧で、キャリアの長い彼の曲がほぼ時代順に収録されており、リリースの必然性を十分に感じさせる完成度があります。
初期の瑞々しいピアノ引き語りの佳曲、全盛期の大ヒット、ブルースやハードロックへのアプローチ、古きよき時代へのオマージュ的なポップソング･･･と多彩なイメージに変容する楽曲がバランスよく取りこぼしなく収められ、その完璧な構成はまるで一本の映画を見ているよう。
楽曲のよさ・歌の上手さを十分に見せ付け、飽きることなく楽しめる内容です。
きっと一生手放せない宝物になることを保障します。

ＣＭで聴いて、懐かしいメロディーとアーティストを調べたら
billy joelだった。この頃は４４歳、入社２０年で、音楽を聴く暇も無く走り回っていた。あの頃、このＭＹ　ＬＩＦＥを聴いていたら
今と違った自分になっていたような気がする。年老いてセンチになっているのかもしれないが。ゆったりと聴いてください。

私が高校生の頃聴いていたせいか、今聞くとその頃の想いが蘇り胸がいっぱいになり涙が滲みます。でも、そういう想いを省いたとしてもこのＣＤは絶対買うべきでしょう。歌声、ピアノ、全てが素晴らしい。夜、ヘッドフォーンで隅々の音まで聴いていると、感動、感動です。
