かれこれ１年、我が家のマストアイテムといってよいアルバムになりました。一聴して、凡庸な他のカバーアルバムとの違いを確信。オリジナルが売れない時代、ベスト盤かカバーという時流に乗った戦略もの、という評価は全くあたらない。リスペクトのしっかり感じられる解釈で、完全に斎藤誠のアルバムになっている。このようにアーチストが自分のものにして初めて、原曲の良さが引き立ちカバーとして成立するのだから。原曲とアーチストへの深い愛情が感じられるアルバム。ましてジョン・オーツの曲選んでくれる人は善人に決まってますよね。30代40代のリスナーなら自分のレコードラックの奥を探し、若い人ならレンタルショップへ、原曲を探しに出かけたくなること請け合い。AORや70年代SSWに今ひとつ手の伸びない人も、ここから始めて見ては？旧譜の再発もお願いします。

まさに秋味な選曲だ。斎藤誠世代が、少年時代に出逢った珠玉の名曲を集め、自身の奏でるアコギのメロディに乗せて優しいながらも力強く歌っている。時に奥田民生や根本要が曲に深みを与え、時に鈴木桃子が音に色を添えるといった絶妙な味付けを施しつつも、決してでしゃばらない脇役に徹して「誠の作品」にこだわった作りになっている。バックは気心知れたミュージシャンで固め、一発録りなんかやってる曲もある。この秋お薦めの、大人のオトコ向けアルバムだ。中でも7ノー・ノー・ボーイ（ザ・スパイダース）がGood!　でも誠ファンなら、ラスト13Waltz　In　Blueを聴くとすごく落ち着くんじゃないかなぁ。最後の最後はいつもの誠を意識できますよ、きっと。

誠さんの魅力が満載の1枚だと思います！誠さんの作る詞と曲の魅力は、このｱﾙﾊﾞﾑの唯一のｵﾘｼﾞﾅﾙ曲『WALTZ IN BLUE』に込められてると思います。誠さんの想いが、そのまま入った曲で、その暖かさと優しさに涙してしまいます。そして他のｶﾊﾞｰ曲で、誠さんの音楽のたくさんの魅力を発見しやすいのかなと思います。歌声、演奏共に素敵で、聴くと自然に優しくなれる、とても素晴らしい1枚です。
