まず広角28mmからの4倍ズームは他のデジタルカメラには無い特徴です。そして、さらに進化した合理的な操作性や多彩な機能！高度な撮影には欠かせないアクセサリーシューも、もちろん装備しています！チャラチャラした感じの無いワイルドなスタイルに持つことの喜びが味わえます！ニコンCOOLPIX5400あらゆるシーンに対応できる本格的デジタルカメラだと思います。。。

マットブラックのクールなボディカラーとコンパクトで流麗なフォルム。ボディには堅牢かつ軽量なマグネシウム合金を採用。
高解像度、有効画素数5.1メガピクセル
撮像素子には新開発の1/1.8型原色CCD(総画素数5.26メガピクセル)を採用。有効画素数は5.1メガピクセル。高性能レンズの描写力を活かして、2592×1944ピクセルの極めて高解像度な画像を提供。

画像処理の最適化により各種画像処理機能を充実させるとともに、5メガサイズの膨大なデータの高速処理も可能にした、Nikon独自のシステムLSIと画像処理アルゴリズム。フルサイズで約3コマ/秒の連写Hを始め多彩な連写性能も実現しています。

新開発の専用ニッコールレンズは、使用頻度の高い焦点域を広くカバーする、焦点距離5.8~24mm(35mm判換算28~116mm相当)の4倍!ズーム。8群9枚の光学系には、色収差を良好に補正しハイコントラストで鮮明な画像を提供するEDレンズ(ED<特殊低分散>ガラスを使用したレンズ)1枚と、ディストーションを最小限に抑制する2枚のガラスモールド非球面レンズを採用しています。さらに、各レンズにはマルチコートをふんだんに施し、ゴーストやフレアーも低減しています。
