比較的なじみやすい、またテクニック的にもそれほどあくせくしなくて
弾けてしまう子供の領分、ベルガマスク。しかしフランソワは真摯に、
そして奔放に自分の感性をちりばめた演奏を披露してくれます。
（あのミケランジェリでもベルガマスクは残してくれなかった。それだけでも
フランソワは偉い！）

ただ、声楽や弦楽器で良い印象をもつART盤も、ピアノに関しては？たしかに音が前に出るようにはなり、
ノイズレベルも低下したが、同時に残響、倍音の大切なエッセンスが消えてしまったようで残念。

ドビュッシーのピアノと言えば、ミッシェル・ベロフが有名ですし、２回も録音してくれています。ベロフの２回目の全集を聴いてみましたが、プレリュードなどはテンポが非常に遅く、模範的な演奏とは言えない面があるのに対して、フランソワの演奏は「うんそうそう、これこそがドビュッシーのピアノだ！」と頷けるものになっており、自分のピアノ演奏の手本にできる内容です。フランソワは、全集を完成する直前に亡くなってしまいましたが、彼の残してくれた録音はこれからもずっと聴き続けられるだろうと思います。
