これはどうしても「何故あの曲が入っていないのか」等という疑問がおきてしまいがちなレコード会社によるベスト版ですが、実はこっそり音質が良くなっているので、初めて買うにはいいのかも知れません。このCDには比較的くどめの曲が多く入っているため、これでこのバンドの評価を下すのはまずいと思いますが…

柳原幼一郎氏脱退前の、いわゆる「４たま」の代表曲セレクション。
これだけ聴けばいい!というものではもちろんないけれど、
「オリオンビールの唄｣「こわれた」など代表曲といわれていないまでも
よく知られる名曲は入っている。
「たまって何？」という人にはとりあえずお勧めしてもいいかも。
なんというか「とりあえず」なセレクション。

私が十代の頃にたまがデビューしたのですが、メディアで取り上げられるのでよく見聞きしてはいたものの、あまりに異質の存在のため私のキャパでは受け入れることが出来ず「こんなものを好きになってはいけない」と無意識に拒絶していたような気がします。

20年近く経ってから改めて聴いて、この強烈な個性と音楽性の高さにため息が出る思いです。
ぜっかくリアルタイムで体験できていたのに、こんなに良いんだったらちゃんと向き合えばよかったと今さら感じます。
