   怪獣たちを倒さずに保護するという、慈愛の精神を持つウルトラマンが登場する人気シリーズ。突如襲来した敵・カオスヘッダーの手により凶暴化した怪獣たちに対して、特捜チームEYESが出動。その一員である春野ムサシがピンチに陥った時、コスモスに変身する。
   従来の設定とは大きく異なるウルトラ・シリーズで、怪獣保護をうたったことで平成ウルトラ・シリーズでは比較的希薄だった怪獣たちの個性が明確に出た反面、敵を光線技で玉砕するカタルシスが不足するというジレンマを抱えることになってしまった。
   コスモスは月を象徴した青いルナモード、太陽の象徴である赤いコロナモードと2つの姿で戦うが、シリーズ中盤からは勇気の象徴であるエクリプスモードも登場する。音楽を「ウルトラセブン」の冬木透が久々に手がけていることも、ファンにとってはうれしいプレゼント。（斉藤守彦）

このDVDの映像特典にメイキング集があります。ちょうどクランクアップの
撮影で最後のシーンはムサシこと杉浦太陽くんのカットで、全撮影終了後、
コスモスが花束を渡すと感極まって泣いてしまったところに集約されます。
今までのウルトラマンよりもはるかに長い６５話には、笑いあり、涙あり

ハラハラドキドキホッとさせる場面がいくつもありましたが、この最後の
７部作とメイキングを見ると、杉浦くんの素直な演技と「春野ムサシ」というものがリンクされます。

月面でのコスモスとカオスウルトラマンカラミティの戦いは圧巻である。
そして、これまでのウルトラマンと異なり怪獣保護の立場をとってきたコスモス・ムサシがたどりつく結論とは・・・
