ジョージの訃報の後に発売された最後のアルバム。最後と知っていたのでしょうか、明るい曲が多いように感じます。全曲にジョージの他、ジョフ・リンとジョージの愛息ダニーが参加しています。二人のジョージに対する愛が感じられるような音作りが泣かせます。ジョージのカントリー指向、インド指向などジョージのスタイルが強く反映されていて、感動的です。ラストタイトル曲の「Brainwashed」は、ジョージの最後のメッセージ曲。現代社会に対して告発を続けた変わらぬ魂が、逝ってしまったんだと涙ぐんでしまいました。ビートルズの頃からのファンにとっては、特別な意味を持つ作品でしょう。ジョージ、ありがとう！

2001年11月29日にお亡くなりになられた、ジョージ・ハリスンに心から長い間、私たちにいろんな事を与えていただき有難うと言いたい気持ちで一杯である。

このアルバムが遺作品になるわけだが、ジョージらしい曲がいっぱい収録されていて、最後の作品にふさわしい完成度である。また、友人でもある、ジェフ・リンやジョージの息子のダニーのプロデュースもなかなか光るアルバムである。
次は、ジョージのワーナー時代のソロ・アルバムもデジタル・リマスターをして、再発売してもらいたいものだ。

２００２年の冬に惜しまれつつも天に旅立った
ジョージ・ハリソンが我々に残していたプレゼント。
病に蝕まれた中で製作しただろうに
遺作と言うにはあまりに明るすぎる作風が、
また、最後になるとは思われない躍動感のある楽曲の
数々が逆にザクリと胸を刺す。
俺たちを悲しませないために･･･。
病気の身体に鞭打ってエレキギターを叩き、

シニカルなメッセージを早口で叩きつける
アルバムを締めくくるタイトル曲『ブレイン・ウォッシュド』
そして最後は．．．
シタールと共に、彼の静かで穏やかなマントラが
初めて俺たちに、『さようなら』を言いながら
雲に乗り、神の御許に旅立っていくのが目に浮かんだ。
ただ手を振りながら、ただ見送るしかなかった。

『泣くんじゃない。俺は消えるんじゃない。違う世界に行くだけさ。
また、会おうぜ。』

そんな声が、聞こえた気がした。
