   ボードゲームの代名詞「モノポリー」を完全ゲーム化。1人用モードが充実し、対戦する敵キャラクターも手ごたえのある思考ルーチンを搭載。ゲームの監修にモノポリー世界チャンピオンの百田郁夫と、日本チャンピオンの野中俊一郎を迎え、非常にバランスのとれた勝負を楽しむことができる。

   1人用モードのメインとなるのは大会モード。プレイヤーは11チーム44名と対戦し、その頂点を極めていく。大会を優勝すると、さらにハイレベルなチームとの対戦が用意されている。この最強チームを打ち破り、大会モードを制覇しよう。また、このほかに、ルールを学びながら遊ぶことができる初心者モード、つぎつぎと現れる敵を倒していくランキングモード、1人から最大5人までの対戦ができるフリーモードを収録。

   フリーモードのマップには通常のマップのほか、表記がすべて英語で書かれているマップや、富くじやかご屋など江戸時代の町を舞台にした大江戸マップなど多彩なマップが用意されている。（池村慎一）

プレイステーション２でプレイ可能なモノポリーは、
2003年9月の時点で３作品発売されています。

この作品は２作品目にあたる物です。

１作品目はハズブロージャパン社から発売されましたが、
思考ルーチンがとんでもないほど弱く（交渉がこっちの言いなり）
ＴＶゲームである意味がまったく無いゲームでした。

この２作品目は思考ルーチンが賢くなって、
一人プレイに耐える使用になっています。
特に交渉において土地の妥当な価格表のようなものを
ＰＣの判断材料にもちいてるらしく値付けがけっこう適切です。

ただ、コンピューターのキャラクターが寒いんですよね~。
有名人のパロディっぽいのとかが出るんですが・・。

３作品目の「モノポリー ~ めざせっ!! 大富豪人生!! 」が

ＰＳ２専用になり見た目も派手派手になってるので
地味なのが嫌いな人はそちらをプレイすると良いかもしれません。

ファミコン版、スーファミ版(1、2)Windows版(モノポリー2)と、このモノポリーDXを所持しています。スーファミのモノポリー(1)をやりこんで、モノポリーにはまり色々買い込みましたが、その中でもこの商品が一番好きです。キャラは好みの問題ですが大人向けで私は好きです。破産寸前のCOMが超破格で土地取引を持ちかけてくるソフトはこれまでになく、好条件ならば成立させての逆転も夢じゃありません。この商品の全体のボードが見れないと書いている方がいましたが、「マップ」をみたら全体のボードが出て各コマの位置・土地の所有者・家の件数等が一目瞭然なはずですが。操作性も問題なく、絶対オススメですよ。

全体のボードが見えないのでわかりにくいし、操作性も悪いと思います。しかもほっとくと勝手に進行してしまいます。はっきり言って退屈です。あと、コンピューターのキャラクターが気持ち悪いです。でも、初心者の私の意見なので、モノポリー経験者にはおもしろいのかもしれません。
