　聖人、超人としての聖徳太子ではなく、理想と現実の狭間で苦悩し戦う政治家厩戸皇子（うまやとのみこ）を描いた骨太のドラマだ。
　最新の考古学の成果をもとに、細部に至るまで飛鳥時代の生活・習慣・宗教を再現しているところが見事だ。
　また彼が作った一七条憲法第一条の「和をもって尊しとなせ」を「みんな仲良し」ではなく、戦争禁止・平和主義のさきがけと描いたところがすばらしい。ラストシーンで彼は、隣国新羅（しらぎ）との戦争を企てる蘇我馬子（そがのうまこ）に告げる。「我が国はいかなる国かと問われたらこう答えるのじゃ、和をもって尊しとなせ、と」。
　それにしても、1500年前以上の人々の生き様はなんと激しいことか。なんとインターナショナルな感覚を持っていたことか。古代は想像以上に劇的だったのだ。

主役の聖徳太子（本木雅弘）よりも
歴史的には存在しない伊真（ソル・ギョング）が目立ってた気が。
ソル･ギョングファンの僕から言えば
ソルさんが日本語喋ってるし、カッコイイし可愛いから
ソルさんファンは買ったほうがいいよ、と思う。
・・・しかしながら画質が良くない。
高画質？！　おいおい、ウソつくなよーって感じです。
というわけで星は３つ。
