１９８０年代後半、個性的なバンドが百花繚乱だった時期。
その中でも、ひときわ異彩を放っていたのが、この「ＢＡＲＢＥＥ　ＢＯＹＳ」だったと思う。

胸の中にズカズカ踏み込んでくる、艶っぽくて少々嗄れたＫＯＮＴＡ＆杏子のツインボーカル。メロディアスで、エッジの効いたイマサのギター。正確でありつつも、煽り立てるようなコイソのドラム。きっちり締めるエンリケのベース。そして、哀切な響きを奏でるＫＯＮＴＡのサックス。

彼らが紡ぎ出す「人間関係・恋愛模様の断片図」は、聴く者の心を鷲掴みにして離さない。曲の中に自らの境遇を重ね合わせる人もいれば、「大人びた恋愛」に想いを馳せる人もいるだろう。
「ＢＡＲＢＥＥ　ＢＯＹＳ」のサウンドは、今もなお、いや、今だからこそ、新鮮に響くのではないだろうか。

このアルバムは、シングルのヒットチューンを中心に構成されているので、バービー入門編としては正にうってつけ。これで虜になれば、オリジナルアルバムを集めることをお薦めする。

音楽的には、星の数は無限大。ただ、「ＥＸＴＲＡ」と銘打っている割に、ＣＤ　ＥＸＴＲＡ等のおまけがついていないので、ちょっとがっかり。だから、星５つにでもしておくか★

ズカズカ人の心に入り込んでくる、艶っぽくてやや嗄れたＫＯＮＴＡ＆杏子のツインボーカル。メロディアスで、エッジの効いたイマサのギター。正確でいて煽り立てるようなコイソのドラム。きっちり締める、エンリケのベース。（哀切な響きを奏でるＫＯＮＴＡのサックスも忘れてはいけない）

彼らが紡ぎ出す「人間関係・恋愛模様の断片図」はたまらなくスリリングで、聴く者の心を鷲掴みにする。また、歌の中に自分の身を置いてみてドキドキしたり、「大人の恋」に憧れる人もいるだろう。
ＢＡＲＢＥＥ　ＢＯＹＳのサウンドは、決して色褪せない。いや、今だからこそ、新鮮であるような気がする。

本盤は、シングルヒットチューンの集成ということで、バービー入門編としては丁度いい。これが気に入れば、オリジナルアルバムを集めることをお薦めする。

音楽的には★無限大。なのだが、「ＥＸＴＲＡ」と銘打っている割に、CD
