期待通りの先鋭な演奏。ジンマンのベートーベンの交響曲全集も、その古楽器的な演奏と価格に驚かされたが、今回のこのミサソレムニスも期待を裏切らない。演奏解釈も先鋭だが、それを実現しているオケ、合唱、独唱、いずれも大変すばらしい。是非ご一聴のほどを。

ジンマンのベートーベンは今更語ることは必要ないでしょうが、改めて聴くと、まずよくもまあここまで、オーケストラと独唱・合唱がついてきたと思います。ともかく速い、というより速いところがものすごく速いのです。クレドの二重フーガから後半はstrettaになり、どの演奏者が最初にゴールにつくのかの短距離走のような感じです。
アニュスデイのノビスパーチェムへの導入は感動的です。ボワーとうごめき新たな希望への兆しを感じて満面の幸福感で満たされます。
そして、交響曲全集でみせた、細かい装飾音の添加はそこかしこ、そして要所要所にあります。
それにしても、ジンマンの演奏は納得するので不思議です。不思議な落ち着き感があるのは多分この人の音楽観が明確な古典の世界に立脚しており、かえって現代的な「解釈」とは異なるものを持っているのだからだと思います。
素晴らしい演奏です。数年前に出たＣＤですが、再度推したい名演です。

ジンマンがトーンハレとともに取り組んだベートーベンの大作「ミサ・ソレムニス」。ベーレンライター版の交響曲全集など、録音活動にも積極的なジンマン。そこでも見せた（魅せた）爽快感溢れるテンポと充実したオケのサウンド、それがこの録音にも活かされています。ベートーベン自身が認める最高傑作であったにも関わらず、後年あまり評価されなかった本作。そんな歴史を覆してしまいそうなミサソレの決定盤ではないでしょうか。ソリスト陣も素晴らしく、個人的に特に推したいのはキリエ。花火のように音が飛び散ります。値段も安価ですし、宗教音楽を聴いたことないという人にも自信をもって薦められる一枚です。
