所謂、モータウン・サウンドへのトリビュート作品なのですが、先ずは裏ジャケの面子をご覧下さい。60sから70s、もちろん90sから現在でも活躍している方も含み、まぁ、なんという強力な面子でしょう。特に、ギタープレーヤーにスポットを当てると、デイヴィッド.T.ウォーカー、P.アップチャーチ、ワー.ワー.ワトソン、E.ゲイルと、R&B、Soul、Jazz、Funk、Rock、Blues etc..何でもござれの強者曲者勢ぞろい。
おまけに、やっている曲が耳馴染みのあるものばかり(S.ロビンソンあり、S.ワンダーあり、D.ロスあり etc.)とくれば、嬉しさもひとしおではありませんか。
曲毎のクレジットには、誰がメロディ、ソロ、バッキングを担当しているのかが詳細に記載されていますが、もうこの面子なら誰がソロを取ろうと、誰がメロディを取ろうと、私としては(いい意味で)もうどうでもいい話でして。。。(^^; こんな作品もあるんですね。まだまだリサーチ不足でした。
＃年代的(本作は'93年作)には、E.ゲイル氏参加作品としては
＃本作が最後だったかも知れません。そういった意味でも
＃感慨深い作品です。
