この記念すべきファーストアルバムは、まだサザンが世間で認められていない（笑）頃のものです。今聞くと、桑田の声が若い！また、歌い方も独特で昔を知らない人はちょっと聞きづらいかもしれないです。

しかーし！これを聞かずにサザンは語れないほどの深みのある歌がいっぱい！

特に「別れ話は最後に」なんて、今でも充分通用するデキ。桑田の当時からの才能を垣間見ることになります。

サザンファンだが、このアルバムは聞いたことがない方へ。一度聞いてみてください。バラードは今の流れに通ずるものがあります。きっと素敵な何かをつかめると思います。

最近のサザンの曲ではあまり無いしっとり系の渋い曲や、
いかにも桑田さんらしいＨな曲、そして言わずと知れたあのデビュー曲
「勝手にシンドバッド」などサザンを知るには十分すぎる一枚です！
やはりそのアーティストを知るには１ｓｔアルバム！ということで、
サザンファンもサザンをあまり知らない人もぜひ持っておきたいアルバムです。

私にとってSASは特別なバンドだ。当時、沢田研二が私のヒーローだった。そして、SASがその座を奪うのにさほど時間はかからなかった。歌詞の内容は当時も今もさっぱりわからないが(笑)、とにかくご機嫌な音楽であったし、その思いは今も変わらない。

SASはYMOやRCサクセションと共に、ラジオを聴かなかった私の音楽生活を豊かにしてくれた。心からありがとうと言いたい。
