ジョー・サンプルにデビッド・T・ウォーカー。クルセイダーズファミリーの偉大なコンビによるまさにアーシーでファンキーなご機嫌アルバム。フュージョン全盛期の”７８の作品の中で、またクルセイダースの方向性とはかけ離れたゴスペル・ブルース色の強い路線で、ファンにはたまらない内容になっている。ジャケットも地味というか泥臭く、売るのを目的としていない様で、わが道を行く自信が感じられイカス。音は生々しい。当時アナログ盤ではハーフ・スピード・カッティングとやらでやたら音の良さを強調していたが、確かに音が素晴らしい。選曲もスタンダードで、場末のバーでこのアルバムがかかればご機嫌なのではないだろうか。イナタイ感じで聴けば聴くほど味が出ると思う。星４つの理由だがなぜか小!さくまとめている感じがする。もっとダイレクトに雰囲気が伝われば良いと思う。だから逆に地味で退屈な感じがしてしまうんだが…はて？完成度が高すぎるのかな？。でもカッコ良いのは確か。B.G.Mにもおすすめ。
