ホリー・コールの魅力は、スタンダードも含め、全ての楽曲を自分の歌、として歌ってしまう力強さでしょう。
歌に入り込む・感情移入する、というよりは、歌を自分に引き寄せ、等身大の自分自身のストーリーとして
解釈し直してしまう、といったやり方です。

だから彼女の歌うスタンダードは、びっくりするほど現代的で、まるで何十年も前に書かれた歌とは思えない
ほど、瑞々しく聴こえるのだと思います。
"テネシー・ワルツ" や "ケ・セラ・セラ"　なんて、下手すれば懐メロにしかならない歌が、こんなにリアルに、
切なく響くなんて、とってもすごいことです。

その他、コール・ポーターから、ジョニー・ナッシュの "I Can See Clearly Now" 、エブリシング・バット・
ザ・ガールの "Don't Let The Teardrops Rust Your Shining Heart" なんて多彩な楽曲に見事に
新しい魅力を与えています。
特に "Don't Let 〜" は泣けます。 "Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday"　はジョー・ヘンダーソンの
サックスとのからみが最高にクール。そして全編で彼女の声と最高の相性を聴かせるピアノとベース！
ちなみに録音も最高で、いいスピーカが欲しくなります。
ほんとに非の打ち所が無い、女性ボーカル１０年に１枚の傑作です。

ホリーコールならではの洒落た味付けだ。
中でも9曲目の「きらいよ…」はフランス語で歌っているが、これが彼女の声質と相まって実にいい。これってシャンソン？？とも思えるかの味付けだ。しかし、中身はれっきとしたホリー節。芯があってクリアな音色は最後まで濁らないですっきりと聞かせてくれる。

これほどリラックスして聞けるボーカルはそうはないだろう。
落ち着いて聞きたい1枚だ。

私はこのアルバムが好きです。なぜかというと、仕事で疲れた時に、これをかけると緊張し切った気分がほぐれて精神が落ち着くからです。私は特に人間関係で気分が滅入った日には彼女の『ケセラケセラ』を聴いて一日を再スタートさせます。ぜひともおすすめ。
