こんな空気感のアルバムって、もう出ないだろう。ビートルズのスタジオライブを意識した作りが、今とても新鮮。汗にまみれた革ジャンが見えるよう。滴り落ちるポマードの香り。少なくとも矢沢は今の矢沢と違う、プレイヤーとしての最高のパフォーマンスを見せている。そして内海のギターが泣き、ジョニーの甘く太い声。ユウのタイトなドラム。このバンドは矢沢だけじゃないんだということが、改めてわかるギグ。ラストのアンコールの叫びが思いっきりヤンキーだけど。そこで泣いてしまうのは世代の定めか・・・。4ピースのバンドマンは買って聴くべし。

伝説的テレビ番組リブヤングでのライブ。
このライブ盤を聴けばキャロルのバンドとしての本質が見えると思う。
ライブならではの凄まじいテンション、それを保ちながらの確かな演奏力。
得に矢沢永吉のテンションが凄い。ボーカル、ベース共にバンドを引っ張る。
正規スタジオ録音盤よりも曲のクオリティーが高いと思わせる演奏には

やはりキャロルの世間的評価は低すぎると思わざるを得ない。

最近またベストが出たみたいですが、これは全盛期のスタジオライヴ。キャロルって、一見ツッパリロックンローラーというイメージがありますが、聴けば分かる通り、かなりポップで、傑出したプレイヤーこそいないものの、楽曲のよさ、アンサンブルの良さ、バンドとしてのまとまり、リズムの良さ（特に永ちゃんんのベースがすごい。彼ノリの良いベースを聴くだけでも価値あり）など、文句のつけようがない、演奏です。個人的には3の「レディーセヴンティーン」と「ファンキーモンキーベイビー」が好きです。おしむらくは、「ファンキーモンキーベイビー」のイントロがレコードのギターソロからではなく、いきなりボーカルから始まるのが、ちょっと不満。でも、トータルとしては愛聴盤の一枚です。解散ライヴの「ラスト　ライヴ」より演奏がまとまっています。是非聴いてみてください。初期ベスト盤ともいえる選曲であり、絶対気に入ると思います。
