最初にデイヴィッド.T.ウォーカーの名前を聞いたのはそう昔ではなく、元々B.バカラックが好き(&ギター好き)な私は、ある時知人に"バカラック作品をギターでやっているアルバムがあるよ。聴いてみな"と勧められたのがデイヴィッド.T.ウォーカーの"BE LOVED"というアルバムでした。
演じている曲のせいもあるのでしょうが本当にやさしく、あったかいギタープレイですっかり気に入ってしまい、いろいろと調べたところ有名なセッション・ミュージシャンだと知りました。
とはいえ、マニア受けするようなアーティストであるが故(？)なかなか音源を捜すことが叶いませんでしたが、本作はそんな中でのデイヴィッド.T.ウォーカー名義3作目(CD化れていた事にもビックリ)です。
後年はソロを取るギタリストとしてよりも、バックに徹する"名バイプレーヤー"的な演奏が多くなって行きます。勿論、そのスタイルにも惚れ惚れしますが、誰に憚ることもなく(^^;その熱いプレーを披露してくれている若かれし時代の演奏もVery Goodです。
"ン、チャカポーン"というカッティグ＋スライドだけで昇天してしまう[1](^^;、[3]はご存知BEATLESナンバーですが、勿論、D.T.ウォーカー風味です。かと思えば[6]は"どブルース"。ワウワウでもうくらくらしそうです。
1st、2ndもCD化されているみたいですので、これもそのうち手をだしてみます。
