商品として手堅い価値があります。
なんせルービンシュタインのショパン集だから♪
でも全体的にノイズと一緒になんか削れてる音がある気がします。
それと部分的に水準の違いもあります。
65年とか67年あたりの録音は文句なしにいいです。例えばノクターンとか。
うっとりしましたよ。
59年とか62年あたり少し残念。例えばバラードとか。
でもそれらは比較の問題です。
つまり前者が良すぎるせいかもしれないぐらいで、十分に楽しめる演奏でした。

　中学生だった４０数年前にはじめて買ったＬＰが、ルービンシュタイン奏でるショパンのポロネーズ集、とても高価な、そして贅沢な演奏の１枚だった。また、ホロビッツが演奏を再開、大津波のような衝撃が日本にも走ったり、ミケランジェリの稀少なライヴがＦＭで流れて好事家のあいだで演奏評が沸騰したりと、その時代、いわゆる大家（ヴィルトオーソ）の演奏には、いまでは考えられないくらいの話題性があった。
　しかし、ポリーニ、アルゲリッチはじめ、その後の輝かしい若手の台頭によって、また、日進月歩の録音技術の向上もあって、こうした大家の演奏はしばしお蔵入りとなった。

　近年、ショパンに関しても、ルービンシュタインに限らずフランソワなど、リヴァイバル盤がふたたび注目されている。その理由は、本全集を聴き直してみて、改めてその薫りたつような品位にあると感じる。真似のできないこの時代特有の演奏家の品位と作曲家に対する熱情が、本全集の底流にも溢れている。演奏技術の高度化では「後世恐るべし」だが、落ち着いて、演奏家の深い解釈にじっくりと耳を傾けるなら、本全集の価値はいまも決して減じてはいない。なにより、これが「全身全霊の１枚」といった極度の集中力が演奏家にも録音技師にも、強くあった時代だからかも知れない。ショパン演奏には特に好みがわかれ「煩型」も多いからそこは割り引いても、この価格なら★４以上の値打ちは十分あるだろう。

5.0 out of 5 stars ショパン演奏の大家ルービンシュタインの名演, 2009/7/26
ルービンシュタイン(Artur Rubinstein:1887-1982)はバッハからラベル、ラフマニノフまで幅広いレパートリーを持つポーランド生まれの大ピアニストで、とくショパンについては戦後世界最高の演奏家としてとして君臨していた。

ルービンシュタインのショパンはスケルツォやポロネーズに見られるようなダイナミックな演奏からノクターン、マズルカに見られるような叙情的な演奏まで、ショパンの多彩な世界を変幻自在に表現し聞き手を楽しませてくれる稀有のピアニストであった。

このアルバムはルービンシュタインの１９５９−６５年におけるスタジオ録音である。ここでは聴き手を圧倒するような演奏は見られず、彼の実演やライブを聴いている人にはやや物足りないかもしれないが、非常に安定した大家の貫禄に満ちた味わい深い演奏で、この演奏の前ではアシュケナージやアルゲリッチの演奏も子どもの演奏のように聞こえてしまう。録音がやや古いとはいうもののショパンの全集としては現在でも最高の演奏ということができよう。こんなすばらしい全集が破格の値段で手に入れられることは信じがたいことだ。
