純粋で若々しく(歳は知りませんが)、そして優しくて懐かしい。
壮大で美しい自然の風景を想像します。
これを聴きながら田舎の風景の中を車で走ると
とっても気持ちいいだろうなと思います。
4曲目のトランペットの音もすごくいいですね。
なんだかこの音楽にぴったりの場所に今すぐ行きたい！と思います。
6曲目は切ないですね、私の心も切ないです。
ヴォーカルのMike KinsellaはOWLSとCAP'N JAZZとJOAN OF ARCでドラムを叩いています。また、OWENと言う名でソロアルバムを出しています。

とにかく美しい。本当に美しい。

全編にわたって貫かれた青さが聴き終えたあとに、胸のなかに暫く残る。
そしてもう一度聴く。絶対。

　イリノイ州にて1997年結成されたindie alternative rock bandの、1stにしてlast album。
　polyvinylから25枚目。

　繊細なgtアルペジオのレイヤーと、安定したba、軽やかでテクニカルなdrで構成された、シンプルながら非常に感傷的な1枚です。
　音の括りはindie post / alternative rock emoあたりで、言葉数は非常に少なく、只淡々と旋律が流れていくのだけど、気付かないうちにその中で懐かしい情景やセンチメンタルな記憶が蘇るのです。

　american footballはこのalbum1枚で活動を停止させてしまうのですが、フロントマンのMike Kinsellaはjoan of arc、owen、owlsで活動をしており、drのsteve lamonsはDMS、the geeseというbandで活動しています。
　pedro the lionやpinback、the appleseed castなどのus indieならではな、落ち着いていて綺麗な音を求めるヒトにお勧め。

　トランペットの音も哀愁が漂っていて素敵です。
