4.0 out of 5 stars OASIS史上初のチャート１位獲得シングル！, 2002/5/15
最近のライブではリアムの声が出ないという理由から演奏されることのないサム・マイト・セイですが、95、96年頃のライブでは間違いなくこの曲が一番の盛り上がりをみせていたし、ノエル自身もOASISの名曲のなかの一つであることを認めている曲なので、これを聞かずしてOASISを語ることはできません。なによりも後半部のリアムの「サム・マント・セイ！」という掛け声と、それにともなうノエルの美しいコーラスは最高だし、感動的、ライブでの復活が待たれる一曲です。

２曲目のトーク・トゥナイトはノエルボーカルの哀愁漂うアコースティックナンバー、ノエルが単独でラジオ出演した時によく演奏している曲です。そしてこのシングルの最大の目玉がこれ｢アクイース」、前半パートをリアムが、後半パートをノエルが歌う兄弟唯一のデゥエットナンバー、これはもうカッコ良すぎます、なんでアルバムにも入らずしかもB面曲なんでしょうか、本当にもったいない曲だと思います。４曲目のへッドシェリンカーは珍しくハードな曲ですが１、２、３と名曲だっただけにちょっと落ちるかな。５曲目はサム・マイト・セイのデモ・ヴァージョンでノエルが歌ってますが、やっぱりこの曲はリアムだろって感じです。最後の「悲しみをぶっとばせ」はビートルズからのカバー曲、アコースティック一本でこちらもノエルが歌っています。

oasis（オアシス）の国内では3枚目のシングル。

このシングルはUK版のSome Might Sayに日本独自編集の2曲を追加した編集版。

Some Might Sayはゆったりしたテンポとリアムの声の絶妙なマッチング、そしてメロディラインはoasisの曲の中でも特筆すべき曲だと思う。残念ながら最近のライブではほとんど演奏される事はない．．．。

Talk Tonightはノエルの弾き語り曲。渋い佳曲。この当時の曲には手拍子等のシンプルなアレンジが多かった。それがいい雰囲気を出しているんだよね。

Acquiesceは、こんな素晴らしい曲をB面に入れてしまうoasisにあらためて感服させられる名曲である。Aメロ部はリアム、サビはノエルが歌っており、oasis史上初のメインメロディを兄弟で分け合う曲となった。この経緯にはいろいろいきさつがあるようだが、単にサビのメロディがリアムのキーには合わないという理由が濃厚。

Headshrinkerはかなり破壊的なパンクソング。ノエルは最近こういうギターソロを弾かなくなったなぁ．．．。

Some Might Say (Demo Version)は、その名のとおりデモ段階でノエルが歌入れをしている曲である。はじめて聞いた時は兄弟の声を明確に聞き分けられてなかった事を思い出す．．．。

You've Got To Hide Your Love Awayはビートルズの曲をノエルがカバー。ノエルの声に絶妙にマッチしている。

オアシスの日本編集シングルというと「ホワットエヴァー」も最高ですが、この｢サム･マイト･セイ｣はそれ以上に素晴らしいといってもいいです！

アルバムでお馴染みのタイトル曲はもちろん、ノエルのアコギ一本の曲の中では最高に切なくて美しい｢トーク･トゥナイト｣や、珍しく兄弟仲良くリードボーカルの｢アクイース｣は兄弟喧嘩なんてぶっ飛ばせ！てな勢いで、とにかく捨て曲無しです！

そして私がお勧めしたいのはラストのビートルズのカヴァーです。この曲がまた、ノエルにカヴァーされるために存在したのか？と思うほど合ってるんです。ビートルズのよりこっちの方が好きなぐらいです。最後の♪ラ~ララ~･･･♪と歌うところ、泣けます･･･。
