　フリー・ソウルが選曲したこのベスト・アルバムはそんじょそこらのベストとは一味も二味も違います。まず「ABC」や「I Want You Back」、「I'll Be There」といった今でも歌い継がれている収録されて当たり前の曲をしっかり収録し、「Sugar Daddy」「The Love You Save」「Petals」のような時代とともに忘れられた名曲も収録しています。量では40曲収録した「アンソロジー」の方が上ですが、収録曲の質ではこのアルバムの方が上でしょう。

　またこのアルバムはただヒット曲を収録するだけでなく遊び心のある選曲をしています。1曲目の「Chiristmas Won't Be The Same This Year」ではセリフ付きで兄弟達の声を聞くことができます。また「I Will Find A Way」「Live It Up」はボーカルがマイケルではありませんし、ヒット曲でもありません。おそらくこの曲が「渋谷系の王子様」小沢健二の「ドアをノックするのは誰だ？」の元ネタになっていることから収録されたのだと思います。

5.0 out of 5 stars 「モータウンはいつも大衆とともにあった」, 2003/4/6
甘いメロディーと抜群のリズム感。
モータウンサウンドには、意地悪な見方をしなくても、難しく考えなくても
自然と体が動き出す、そんな単純で純粋なポップスがたくさんあります。

ブラック・ミュージックを世に知らしめたモータウンは
その音楽やパフォーマンスで、貧しい人たち、差別を受けて苦しむ多くの人たちを

笑わせて、踊らせて、勇気づけてきた歴史があります。

だからなのか、この時代のサウンドは、今聴いてもすごいパワーがあります。
ジャクソン・ファイヴはモータウン初心者にはとっつきやすいものかもしれません。

個人的にもこれは聴きやすく、とにかくテンションが上がるので
元気を出したいときには欠かせないアルバムのひとつです。

ジャクソン・ファイヴのベスト盤ですが、本当に贅沢な選曲！「ABC」や「I Want You Back」など、一度は聴いたことのある曲がたくさんあって、青春時代に聴いたことのある方はもちろん、若い年代でも楽しめます。懐かしいようで、どこか新鮮味があって・・・。いつの時代でもいいと思える、これこそまさに名曲です！

最高のダンス・ナンバーが続くかと思いきや、「I'll Be There」ではしっとりとしたバラードを聴かせてくれる。サービス満点、名曲のオンパレード、絶対に聴いておきたい１枚です。
