高校生当時UKパンクに染まり始め、手当たり次第に聞いていったが、いかんせん英語が理解できないため曲をメロディとビートとしてしか感じられないのがもどかしく、最初に手にとったJPパンクがこの名盤STOP JAP。

ハマッた。狂ったように毎日聞きまくっていた。（LPだったけど）
自虐的ともいえるミチロウの詩があの当時の自分にひどく心地良かった。日本のパンクシーンを語るうえで絶対に外せないアルバムのなかの１つです。

私が高校生（1984年だったかな）の頃、スターリンが大好きだった友達から無理やりテープを渡されて聞いたのが最初。　初めはとにかく”うるさくて、なんか気持ち悪い”が印象だった。でも2~3日して、『玉ネギ畑』の歌が私の頭をずぅ~っと駆け回って離れなくなってしまった。（わたしの病気はタマネギ畑、むいても剥いてもタマネギ畑・・・・・）そして、レコードを買いに走りました。その後はミチロウにはまってしまいました。みなさんも気をつけて下さいね。これは麻薬です！！（危険なアルバムです）
