1977年の１月から２月にかけて、ヨーロッパでの１６回のコンサートツアーからの録音。３５歳くらいのころだそう。

パーカッション、トランペット、何でも声でやってしまう人間楽器アル・ジャロウ。１曲目のイントロからジャロウ節全開です。

音楽の楽しさを口いっぱい胸いっぱい味わうことのできる贅沢。甘くてあったかくてやわらかい、いわゆるアナログな音、懐かしいけど決して古くならない音。子守唄のような安心感がある。

'80年代に向け、JAY GRADONプロデュースによる少しマイルドなAOR路線に突入するのですが、その直前、まさに"人間楽器＝VOCALIST"を存分に発揮したライヴ盤。ソウル、ジャズをポップに、という表現すら貧弱になるようなALの世界を満喫できる作品。
変幻自在なウタをもって縦横無尽に楽曲をコントロールしてしまうALの良さが満載です。
これ以降のやや洗練されていく前、泥臭さも感じられる素晴らしい仕上がりです。要は音楽を知ってる、これに尽きるのでしょう。"音楽"の体現そのものです。
ハートフルで息づかいがよく伝わる内容です。
ジャンルにとらわれず、良質な音楽を漁っている方は是非！AL JARREAUそのものがまだまだ聴く人しか聴かない存在なのはとても寂しいです。この内容での廉価盤、嬉しい限りです！
一見変貌を遂げた"THIS TIME""BREAKIN' AWAY"も何を隠そう私の愛聴盤、多くのミュージシャンがもっとALに多くのリスナーが触れるべきと考えた結果と私は捉えています。
これ以降も変遷はあるのですが、AL JARREAUの本質的な部分を垣間見ることが出来る良質な作品。
