この本では、いろいろな人が３つの章に分けられて紹介されていました。
第１章：博士号を取得して、研究者になった人
第２章：博士号を取得して、企業で研究している人
第３章：博士号を取得したのに、全く別の分野で活躍してる人

博士号を取得したら、研究者になる人ばかりだと思っていましたが
これまで知らなかった博士号取得者のキャリアパスを知る事ができて、とてもためになりました！
博士課程の学生、博士課程に進学しようとしている学生（ひょっとしたら、子供が博士課程に進学して、不安な日々を送っている親も）、是非読むべき一冊だと思いました。

自分が学生の時にも、この本があれば…

この本を読んで、研究職以外にも博士号を生かせる方法があることがよく分かりました。
博士号をとるために大変な苦労をしているにもかかわらず、さらに自分のあり方について悩む時期を迎えている博士課程の学生にはとても良い教本になっていると思います。
研究室にいて、研究しかやることがないんだろうかと感じている人がいれば是非読んでみてください。
研究以外の道を考えることもその人のあり方です。

自分はこれを読んで、今の研究としっかり向きあいつつ、研究以外の視野を持ったまま博士号を取得しようと決心しました。

ここ最近で、一番お勧めの本。

大学、企業をはじめ様々な場所で活躍する博士を持った人たちの取材記事はとても読み応えがありました。
それぞれの人の価値観ややっている内容は全然違うのに、
常に前向きでチャレンジし続ける姿勢は変わらないという印象を受けました。


取材をした人にも博士号を取ってる人がけっこういて、
研究室にいた人なら共感できる内容なんじゃないかと思います。
