タイを皮きりに　アジアやモロッコなどを　食を軸に歩いた紀行。
なるほど、食べ物を知る事は　その国に入る最も手早い手段だと思い知る。
作者も　まず食材の名前を現地語で覚える事から始める。するとあとはもう関連付けて次々と耳から目から口から　その国が味わえる。
どんな食べ物も　見下さないで並列視しているのが　非常に気持ちがいい。

先入観を持たないで挑んでいる。
私もいろんな国で　多様な食べ物を摂るが　この本を読んだあとでは、味わい方が　違ってきた。柔らかな探求心が縦横無尽に心を占めるのである。
