まず結論から言うとCを扱うならこの本を買った方が良いと思います。少し値段は高めかもしれませんが、その値段の価値は十分あると感じました。
　内容としては簡単な内容から少々難しめな内容を題材に実践的なCによるプログラムの書き方を示しています。
　本書における”実践的”とは”保守しやすい”と言う事です。ほぼ全ての説明がこの観点から書かれています。実践の場では保守・改変作業が大半だと言う事です（自分は大学生）。
　少々無駄があっても分かりやすければ、凝りに凝った本人しか分からないプログラムよりましだという考えです。その為初めの方でスタイル、コメントについて書かれています。（これが気にくわなければ従わなくても良いと思いますが、ほぼ独習・一人でプログラム作成をやってきた方は為になると思います。）
　
　この本を読み終えた後と前では明らかにプログラムのスタイルは随分変わりました。知識的な物も増えたと思います。

　ただ、ある程度のCの知識を前提としているので一度読んでみてダメだと思ったらまた時期を置いて読んでみたら良いと思います。買っとく価値はあります。

私は、現場での実務経験がない入社1年目の新入社員です。今までC言語に関する入門書を多く読んでいましたが、入門書だけに実践的な部分があまり理解できず、中途半端になっていました。この本は、少し内容が深く一見初心者には難しそうに見えますが、逆に初心者用の入門書より、具体的に解説してあり、正しい考え方を修得でき、分りやすいと思います。また、誰もが最初に間違うといったような例題を通して、プログラミングに自信がつくのではないかと思います。

以前、某雑誌の特集で、Ｃがわかればすべてがわかるというのがあり
ましたが、まぁヨイショのし過ぎな文句なのかもしれませんが、依然
として、知っておいたほうがよい言語だと思います。
Ｃでプログラムするような機会は、ほんとここしばらく全くないです
けど、Ｃを勉強していたおかげで今までかなり助かってます。なんと
いってもＣの影響を受けた言語は多いですからね、色々応用がきくも
のなのですよ。

で、肝心のこの本ですが、前訳本でも書きましたが、初心者を脱しよ
うとしている人にとっては最適だと思います。よくありがちな、Ｃの
文法やテクをただ書いているだけの本とは違います。プログラムのス
タイルやプログラムの仕方についての記述が数多くあります。
Ｃのような言語の場合、どのようにコーディングするのか、言い換え
るとWHATだけでなくHOWについて必ず考えなくてはならないと思いま
す。この本は常に、HOWについて意識した記述をしており、そういった
点が、この本を推奨する大きな理由です。

ただ、この本だけで、ポインタとかのキモはさすがに理解できません
でしたので、別の本を読む必要があります。
