大都市ダブリンから、毎週末同じ時間に同じメンバーを乗せて、地元の小さな町に戻るバス。

物語は、このバスに乗ったメンバーの、ある同じ週末に起こった一人一人の出来事をオムニバス形式の、短編集として進んでいきます。
一章ごとの、物語がリンクしているので、読み進めて行くうちに夢中になってしまいます。

不倫の恋に疲れて毎週両親の元に帰る女性、ゲイであることを隠して病気の父親のために毎週家に帰る青年。。。
問題を抱えた、一人一人が、ほんの少しづつ希望の持てる方向に進んでいく様子に心が温まります。

ふと思い気になったのは、アイルランド人と日本人の意外に似ている点。

同じようなことで悩み、幸せを感じる人種なんだと遠い国の事を思い、親近感を持ちました。
