このCDには60分間で560もの文章をひたすら英語で読み続ける
形になっており、ヒアリングの練習には最適です。
といっても、購入前の人にはどれくらいのレベルかわからないでしょうから、
以下に始めの6本だけ書いてみます。大体このレベルだとご想像ください。
1.We must respect the will of the individual.
2.Take it easy. I can assure you that everything will turn out fine.
3.Let go of your negative outlook on life. Always maintain a positive attitude.
4.You should be fair to everyone regardless of national origin, gender, or creed.
5.Equality is guaranteed by the Constitution.
6.He learned against the pillar and gazed at the Statute of Liverty.

この文には現代英語の重要単語1600語と熟語1000語が含まれており、
語彙力の強化に最適です。付属に各英文とその日本語訳が付いた
小冊子が付いていますので、私の場合は初めはCDを聞いて、冊子を見ながら話す。
やがて冊子無しで話してみるというように勉強すれば効果がありました。

非常に実用的な英単語帳「DUO」の付属CD。

基礎用とこの復習用と2種類があるが
学習するときにはどちらか片方でやる事になる。
基本的にはこの復習用をお勧めしたい。

基礎用では日本語訳、スロー英文、単熟語、ナチュラル英文と続けて再生される。
DUO本編をやらずにCDだけで学習する場合はこちらの方がいいかもしれないが
非常に冗長であり、一通り聞くだけでも大変時間が掛かってしまう。
英語のリスニング学習では反復が非常に大事で
何度も繰り返す事が大切だがこれでは大変非効率的だ。

それに対してこの復習用ではネイティブスピードで全てを連続的に読み上げる。
基本的に一度やってその部分を知っている事が前提となるが
定着を図るには反復演習は非常に強い。
聞き流すだけでもいいのでひたすら聞きまくろう。

また値段も基礎用に比べて半額以下。こちらがお勧めだ。

DUO3.0本誌と復習用ＣＤを併せて買いました。本誌を見ると知らない単語ばかりで１つの文章に３つぐらい知らない単語や言い回しや表現があって見ただけで疲れる、というレベルから学習を開始しました。

1復習用ＣＤを１ユニットを繰り返し聞きながら書き取る（この際、知らない言い回しばかりで歯が立たなさそうなら、まず例文を見ながら暫く聞いて、それから書き取る）　15分ぐらい。
2答えあわせをして分からない単語・綴りを間違えた単語をピックアップして重点的に綴りの練習。日本語の意味もあわせて確認。
3間をおかずにまた書き取って、更に間違えたところをピックアップ。
という感じで１周を終えたところ、最初は意味不明な音の連なりだった復習用ＣＤが、記憶を呼び出すデバイスに。１周終えるまではめちゃめちゃしんどかったですけど、終えた今はＣＤ聞いてるだけでふっと覚えた単語の意味が浮かんでくるのだから、まさに復習用という感じです。

英語力がある人が実力を伸ばす本ではなく、英語力が無い人が基本的語彙力を伸ばして、実力を底上げする下地を作る語彙集だと思います。また『速読速聴英単語』シリーズに比べると本誌の解説は意外と語彙の解説が丁寧で、分かりやすいので、どこか部分だけをやる、というのではなく１冊丸ごと首っぴきで取り組むとかなり力が付くと思います。というか、かなり力が付いたという実感が得られました。

余談ながら、声優の方の演技がちょっと面白くて笑っちゃうところがあるので、ランダムで聞いてると何となく楽しいです。ボブが凹んでるとことか。
