他の評者の方と同様、私も光学薄膜の特性計算プログラムを
作るために本書を購入しました。

私が参考にしたのはマトリックスを使った吸収の無い場合、
という非常に基礎的なところだけだったのですが、
通読してみて式の展開が非常に丁寧なのが印象に残りました。

複素数の指数関数に慣れている人であれば、自分で導くのも
難しくは無いと思うのですが、こういう風にまとめられていると、
便利なのだろうと思います。

私が参考にした部分で、ちょっと誤植がありましたので、
他の部分にもある程度残っているのではないかと思われます。
そこは少し要注意です。

光学設計をする必要があって、基礎から勉強するよい本をさがしていてこの本を見つけた。
光学薄膜の本を何冊か購入して読んでみたが、なかなか理解できなくて苦しんでいたときにこの本に出会った。
私が知りたかったことが、わかりやすく書かれており、この本を参考にしながらEXCEｌで薄膜の光学特性を解析するプログラムを作ることができた。

光学設計で悩んでいる人や、これからこの分野に進みたい人にこの本をお勧めしたい。

基礎というタイトルがついた本でも入門者には理解しにくいものが多いのですが、本書は正に入門者のことを考えて懇切丁寧な解説がなされています。

限られた紙面の中で計算の途中式も丁寧に記載されており、著者の誰にでも理解しやすいように手を抜かない姿勢は素晴らしいと思います。
　所々にある「Coffee Break」も息抜きだけでなく、興味深い内容となっていて面白かったです。

光学薄膜を勉強するためには絶対にあった方がよい本だと思います。
