野良犬として長野県の高校に迷い込み、運よく生徒や先生たちに助けられ、用務犬として校内を見回る他、会議にも出席するほど大事にされてそこで犬としては長い一生を終えられたクロという一匹の犬の物語、と言うよりも携わった生徒や、教職員による思い出や記録。
職員や生徒たちと、クロとのユーモラスで微笑ましいやりとりの他、動物や人の本当はもっと純粋な生きるという権利を、改めて実感できる一冊なのではないでしょうか。犬との関わりがもっと純粋だったころの独特な雰囲気のある一冊だと思います。
