著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

坂村 真民
明治42年熊本県生まれ。昭和6年神宮皇學館(現・皇學館大学)卒業。25歳の時、朝鮮で教職に就き、36歳で全州師範学校勤務中に終戦を迎える。帰国後、21年から愛媛県で高校教師を務め、65歳で退職。以後、詩作に専念。四国に移住後、一遍上人の信仰に随順して仏教精神を基調とした詩の創作に転じ、37年月刊個人詩誌『詩国』を創刊。平成11年愛媛県功労賞、15年熊本県近代文化功労者受賞(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

１８年１２月１１日真民さんが亡くなりました。真民さんの最後の著書となりました。真民さんがこれまでに書いた詩や随筆から、厳選された「ことば」が一年３６６日分、コンパクトながらぎっしり詰まった本です。真民さんの代表的な詩や魂をゆさぶる言葉が、毎日一篇ずつまとめられ、とても贅沢な内容です。坂村真民を知らない人にも、悩み多き若い世代の人にも、是非お薦めします。

坂村真民先生の詩とは、森信三先生の著書を通して出会うことができました。９０才を超えてなお、詩作に情熱を傾け続けられている先生の生き方と、魂の言葉に触れることで、どれだけ励まされてきたか。詩集や随筆はほとんど読みましたが、　真民先生をいつも身近においておける「一日一語」は鞄の中や机の引き出しのなかで、いつも私を慰め叱咤してくれることでしょう。
「念ずれば　花ひらく」この八字十音をこれからも人生の糧にして参ろうと思います。　
追記　昨年の十二月十一日、ご逝去なされました。謹んで先生のご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。合掌。

２０代の頃からファンでした。相田みつおさんのようには目立たない方でしたが、「念ずればはなひらく」「足の裏的人間になれ」など共感できる言葉に人生大変な影響を受けました。
残念ながら、昨年１２月１１日にお亡くなりになられとてもシヨックでした。今５１歳の私ですが、これからの人生も彼の残してくれた言葉を噛み締めながら生きて行こうとおもいます。
