ネットの中の情報では「メメント・モリ」の改訂版はおおむね好評なのに、
なぜかレビューでは苦言を呈する人がいるのが不思議です。

藤原新也のブログでは旧「メメント・モリ」が廃刊に追い込まれることを
阻止するために改訂版に踏み切ったとあります。
つまり彼は「メメント・モリ」をあきらめないために改訂版を
作ったのではないかと私は解釈しています。

改訂版の文字がシルバーになっているのもネットでは好評のようです。
私もシルバーの文字に大賛成です。
というのも、旧「メメント・モリ」の文字は白でちょっと大きいので
写真をじっくり見ようとするのに邪魔でした。
ですが今回文字をシルバーにしたことで写真を見ようとすると写真に集中
できるし、文字を読もうとするとそちらに意識が行くようになりました。

もうひとつ発見がありました。
シルバーの文字が角度によってはっきり見えたり
薄く見えたりと変化するのです。
この感じがミステリアスな雰囲気を出しているように思えます。
これも計算なのでしょうか。

十年以上前に手にしたとき、僕はまだ二十代前半の若造だった。
その日以来、どれだけ自分をささえてくれたことだろう。
感謝をいくらしても、しきれない程だ。

しかし。「メメント・モリ」そのものに手を加えてほしくなかった。
いいものに仕上がっているだけに、「メメント・モリ」という書名ではないものにしてほしかった。
「新版メメント・モリ」を出すことで「旧メメント・モリ」が色あせてしまった感が否めない。

「汚されたらコーラン」という言葉にも矛盾する。
　だがサービス精神旺盛な藤原さんのことなので、
「東京漂流」の続編を期待してしまう。
　お願いします！

　とても役立つとおもう。
現在の私達は何かにすがりたいが、その者が信じられない。
精神は不安定だ、自殺者が交通事故者より3倍も多い。
誰かが何かを気づいてあげればと、周りの人たちは悔やむのだ。

　当事者も死にたくは無いに決まっている。しかし、人々は関わりを絶ちたがる。
見知らぬ誰かに優しくされて殺される。なんという時代なのだ。
そんな時に新たなphotoをいれ、旧作もプラスしたこのロングセラーの本。
2008年版「メメント　モリ」は暗闇の中にいる私達に微かだが、穏やかに生きることとはと、
死の表現により考えさせている。体裁も銀色でなかなか斬新である。

　このあとに同じ「メメントモリ　英語版」がでるそうだ。
これもたのしみである。

　2008年版、ぜひお買い求めください。
　　　　推薦いたします。
